New! Shared Open House Pages

The Division has created new Open House web pages and has shared them to all schools. These pages will automatically display schools open house dates in the page template.

Once a date passes, the graphic in the page will change.

Very Important

Your Open House page has already been shared directly to your school spotlight through an alt-news post (so no need to share again). If you would like to change the standard SEO thumbnail preview graphic to a custom one, please go through your news section and edit your existing news post named "Open House" to do this and not your open house page.

Things to be aware of about Division Shared Pages

  1. These new Open House pages are shared from the Division, so the page title cannot be changed or it will display as a broken link.
  2. The URL or Page Route cannot be changed or it will display as a broken link.
  3. Schools can only edit the School Specific Content section (found under the Main content section)
  4. This page cannot be shared directly to the school spotlight.
  5. Do not change the division graphic in the SEO section.
  6. These pages are not to be deleted, they are intended to be used yearly.

How to access this page

Note: You must search/edit through the “Pages” tab

Note: This is an Alt News post so it redirects to your open house page. Do not add School content here.

How do I share to homepage spotlight using alternative news?

Note: This year the Division has already shared the page to the schools home page spotlights by using the following steps.

  1. Create a News Post with an Alternative Route.

    Alt route

  2. Tag the news item as spotlight

    tag new spotlight

  3. Set an Expiry at for a date after the last event has past. This will automatically remove the post from your home page. (Division has set the date to expire a week after your schools event has past)
